Hi and welcome to my blog! If you’re anything like me, I was searching on how to make money online for a long time! I actually first thought of the idea about 13 years ago. I tried but failed and so I forgot about it. I visited the topic over the years sporadically but again failed and continued to forget. I am going to teach you everything I know on how to make money online. First we’ll talk about avoiding scams online, then affiliate programs, blogging, and finally online training available to you along with the support you’ll need to continue in the business.
Notice I said business. Before we get into the meat of this post I want to inform of a major misconception on making money online. This by no means is a fast process. However, that’s not bad news. You have to treat making money online like a business. As a matter of fact, it will be your business. So get used to saying from here forward, I have an online business! 😉 As you know, a business takes time to grow. You have to keep nurturing and treating it like something of value so that it can turn around and pay you back; make you financially free!
Scams Online
First thing I’ll teach you is steer clear of scams online. They’re everywhere! Finding a legitimate business to teach you the ropes of
making money online is like a finding a needle in a haystack. Lucky for you, I’ve found it, and I’m going to tell you all about it.
Any businesses online that claim to make thousands of dollars your first month; you can leave the page immediately. This pertains to businesses offline as well. You know about multi level marketing companies like Amway, ItWorks, and so on. I’m not saying these companies do not work nor can you make money from them, but that they promise you financial independence quickly and that is not right. So if you see anyone flashing a lot of money, or exotic cars, or big yachts, save yourself the time and money and keep moving.
Affiliate Marketing
Now I introduce you to the world of affiliate marketing. You may have heard about it before, or maybe just a little bit a bout it. Affiliate marketing consists of joining affiliate programs online. Most of the programs are all free. An affiliate program allows you to earn commission for helping a company generate sales. Statistics show that 80% of all companies online have an affiliate program! Even major companies like Amazon, walmart, best buy, etc. Affiliate marketing is a lucrative business and can make you financially free if you treat it as a business.
So How Does it Work?
Let me inform you that anyone making any significant amounts of money online owns a website. I’ll show you how to build a website, it’s easy! Then, you want to make your website about whatever you want it to be about. Preferably something you’re passionate about. Let’s make an example. Let’s say you are passionate about the Philadelphia Eagles. I live in Philadelphia so I’m going to use them. 🙂
You will make a website about the Philadelphia Eagles. You will search online for affiliate programs that sell Philadelphia Eagles merchandise. Once you join the affiliate program, you will know how much commission they will pay you for sales that you generate for them. For instance, 
Amazon has the largest affiliate program online. There are virtually millions of products on their website and you can make a commission off of every single one of them! Amazon starts out at 4% commission on products and as you sell more and more products you’ll cap off at 15 % commission. Then you get to blogging!
You didn’t see that one coming did you? So blogging is really neat. It gives you a chance to show your creativity side. Anyone can do it, it’s just like having a conversation online. For example, you know when you watch that really good movie and then go home or go to work the next day and tell everyone about it? Yeah, that’s all it is. You blog about something you’re passionate about, and you can blog for days! Sort of like this website here. I love the idea of making money online, so I blog about it!
Wait a Sec…
Now those numbers I mentioned above don’t sound too big right? Let’s get a little deeper into it. Once you learn how to get traffic to your website you will see your sales increase. More visitors = more sales = more money! Let’s say you got 100 pages on your website. Each page brings in 100 visitors to your website a month. That’s 10,000 visitors a month (this is very possible)! Now, if 5% of those visitors, let’s say, buys an Eagles Jersey for $100 and, you get 10% each, in commission from Amazon, that’s $10 a jersey. So the formula for this would be $10 x 500 visitors (How I got the amount of visitors is 5% of 10,000 visitors= 500), $10 x 500 visitors = $5,000 every month! That’s a good money right, for sitting at home blogging!
Blogging
It is really easy to blog! You use a software like WordPress to create your web pages. You can learn all about how to do it at Wealthy Affiliate. This is the program that I’ve been using for a little over six months now and they have taught me everything I know. The best part about it is that you do not have to go to any other places to learn anything else, they teach you everything you need to know about the business. Things like blogging, creating traffic, using keywords, etc.
Once you have an active website and are creating pages by blogging your content. You will start to have a really nice website. Over a short period of time you will learn how to get traffic. Traffic is your main focus because this will allow you to generate revenue and fulfill your financial goals. Just for you to have an idea, many bloggers that I know that have been doing this business for many years, make a consistent 4-6 thousand dollars a month. Sporadically throughout the year I’ve seen them achieve 10 thousand dollar months.
That would be nice right? Working from home or your own personal office and just working on your online business. You can even travel all around the world because your business is mobile. All you need is a laptop and an internet connection! The internet business is a good business to be in because it is only growing and it is filled with all the benefits that will allow you to fulfill your dreams. Financial independance, more time with your family, or traveling, etc. I know this one guy, named Steve, that travels all around the world with his fiance for months at a time because he can do that, he has a successful online business.

Thanks so much for pointing that out. I think it is really important to provide people with a legit opportunity to make money online. A lot of people do not know how and because of this there are many companies out there that prey on people and scam them out of their money. Making money online is simple. It is more based on time than anything. Of course you do need to put in a lot of work to get a return, but such is with any business.
I am responsible for pointing out scams and illegitimate opportunities online. I feel that is completely unethical to give people a sense of hope of making thousands of dollars their first month, and making them think that it is a push button system. Anyone can make money online with the right training. Eventually, you will be able to supplement or replace your income online.

Very good information here. I like how you gave me a “how to” on staying away from scams. I’ve always heard of programs out there to claim to make you millions of dollars in a few months. Signed up for them and ended up making 0 nothing at all but paying a hefty fee in the program itself. I’m down to my last leg with this affiliate marketing stuff. Also with programs promising to make me rich overnight. I’ve heard about wealthy affiliate never really had an understanding on how it works though. You gave me that understanding in this article.

There are a lot of scams out there as you know and working with a company like Wealthy Affiliate you will learn how to pin point them from the very beginning before it’s too late and you lose money.

I’ll definitely recommend this post to anyone who is starting out in affiliate marketing. There a lot of opportunities online but some are fraudulent. One needs to be cautious before investing their hard earned money to such scams. Wealthy Affiliate helps us to start our business in the legit way possible. Internet marketers are definitely like any other profession. They need a lot of training. You have got to work hard to get your numbers at the top and making a steady flow of income. It’s definitely not for people who quit things if they don’t see any results in a few months. The rewards far outweigh the work you need to put in though.
