Founder: Isabella Weems
Rating: (2 / 5)
Origami Owl, Product Overview
Origami Owl is a business opportunity for women to engage in a jewelry business and make significant profits off of their merchandise. They do have some really nice jewelry. I don’t have a doubt in my mind that you can make some great sales within this business. So what is it exactly? Their business model is just selling merchandise at a wholesale price and have you, the salesperson, sell them at retail value. If you have the money and are seeking to own your own business, it may not be a bad idea.
The Good & the Bad
PRO #1 – Become a business owner for as low as $189
PRO #2 – Host Jewelry Bars where you can make some big bucks!
PRO #3 – Encourage young people, ages 12-17 to become business owners.
CON #1 – Steep price to get into business, especially from nothing.
CON #2 – A lot of better business opportunities out there.
CON #3 – You’re essentially making the founder rich because it is not your own product.
Who is Origami Owl For?
Information regarding “who” the audience the product is targeted at and who will benefit from the product
Origami Owl targets especially young teens to get into business. Teens ages 12-17. This was inspired by the founder Isabella Weems was confronted with an obstacle when she was a teenager. She wanted a brand new Jeep when she was in high school and her parents told her the only way to get it would be to get a job or start a business. Hmm, sounds familiar, something like my parents, lol.
Even though Origami Owl highly encourages teenagers to start their own business, their business is for any woman who would like to own her own business and sell jewelry. You can make anywhere from 20-50% in commissions on their jewelry sales. This would be a good business idea for young, middle aged, and elderly woman. I think all age groups can find this business of jewelry sales fun and inspiring.
If you like hosting parties where you can show your jewelries to many people, you may really enjoy Origami Owl. You can even join other jewelry designers in the business to join together and maximize your profits. More people = More profits! They offer great rewards to major sales in jewelry bars. You can earn a lot of free jewelry and big discounts on merchandise.
Origami Owl Tools & Training
The tools you’ll receive are essentially the merchandise in your starter kit. This will help you tremendously to start trickling in sales. I have been in sales for so many years, so I know how it works. Your starter kit includes stuff like jewelry menus, thank you cards, order forms, planners. It also includes business supplies like glass showcase boxes, tweezers, and to go boxes.
You do not receive a website. However, if you would like to build a website, and for free, this is my area of expertise so I can help you with this. Having a website can help you a lot because you can reach out to a whole world of people. Instead of just your local community. Think about it, there’s over 3.2 billion people online today!
There is no training involved in the business program. This is primarily direct sales. You can however research best sales practices in Google to help you with your campaign. In order to be successful in sales you must be:
- Dress presentably or professionally
- Neatly groomed and smell good.
- Speak professionally
Just a few tips to be successful in the sales business. Also remember, sales is a numbers game. The more people you reach, the more sales you’ll reach. Not everyone will say yes, but they are out there, you just have to keep talking to more and more people. Get referrals!

Origami Owl Price
They highly recommend you start your business with a starter kit (starting at $189) but it’s not mandatory. However, it will be extremely difficult to sell a product sight unseen. You can still sell products this way, but it is much easier when you have some merchandise for a presentation and then customers can order additional products off of the website. Similar to many other business models that sell merchandise. (See Amway Review)
My Final Opinion of Origami Owl
I think Origami Owl is an incredible business model. I am really inspired by the founder of what she has created and become. I do not recommend starting a business this way because their are so many downsides to it.
You have to remember that this is an inventory based business. If you do not have the merchandise, it can be really difficult to earn your maximum potential.
- Direct sales involves talking with many people face to face so you have to step out of your comfort zone and into a lot of people’s space who may not be so inviting.
- Yes you can make a lot of commission possibly, but you’ll always be making the next person rich. It’s not like selling your own product.
- It is good for young teens to learn business ethics but I would prefer to show my teens how to build an online business for free as opposed to spending hundreds of dollars to get them started. Teens are more tech savvy these days than ever and they can surely enjoy an online business better.
- Owning a jewelry business can get quite frustrating if you have a lot of customers that complain. Of course, customer satisfaction is of utmost importance, so you’ll want to build good relationships with people and show yourself to be of good reputation.
- Your business will never provide passive income, unless you have a website. So you’ll always have to work work work to make money. Passive income is where you can leave your business on autopilot and then relax a little.
Do you have a personal experience with Origami Owl. As always your feedback is very much appreciated and it truly does help others! 🙂
