  1. Hi Jonathan,

Great review of Amazon Affiliate! It is very clear and simple.

    I have a few questions;

    1) You mention that it is social network friendly. Can I simply post an Amazon link to my facebook and make money off of it that way, or do I need a website as well? What about Instagram, is there a way to utilize that as well via photo’s and links?

2)How often do you receive your commission from Amazon? Monthly, bi-weekly?

    3) I do not see a link to the Amazon Affiliate program on your site. How can I sign up for this?

    • Hi Alison, you asked some questions I don’t have the answers too, but they’re really good questions and I will get the answer for you. As far as the link, I have added it on the website for your convenience. Thank you for your feedback.

    • Hi Alison, I’ve gotten the answers to your questions. I apologize I took a while, I’m actually in the process of moving :). Here they are:

      1) Yes you will need a website to post your Amazon link to your social networks. At that point you will be sharing your website link with your Amazon link. This will allow readers to go to your website and either purchase at your own Amazon store or get more information on the product and then be connected directly to Amazon. The Amazon store is relatively easy to add on to your website. Remember, you won’t need any code anymore, it’s a lot easier now a days, it’s all plug and play.

      2) As far as receiving your commissions Amazon pays out once a month.

I hope this helps. If you have any more questions please let me know. Good luck to you and your online business!

  2. Nice! I really like your style of writing! It’s super easy to read but doesn’t feel like your dumbing down content for me. Keep up the simple language man, and you’re sure to get a lot more readers! Just Do It!

As for the Amazon, I totally forgot that I could advertise their products and get commissions as well, and so I’m going straight over there right after this!

Thank you man! Good stuff indeed! Looking forward to more posts!

    Keep Smiling!

    • Joeka, thank you for complementing my post and writing style. It means a lot to me. I really want to simplify the the internet marketing world for everyone. It’s great to hear you’ll be heading over to Amazon, I hear only good things from their affiliates. I’ve even seen people that get over million dollars in sales a year. That would be some great commission. It looks like they make real easy to market their products and the payment plan looks pretty simply and forthcoming. I plan on selling my own product on Amazon in the future. They really do have an awesome setup. If you had your own product they even store and ship it for you. I know people actually ship their whole inventory to Amazon and for a fee they handle all the shipping and everything. Not to mention Amazon is the largest online store on the net, and it’s only growing.

Good luck to you man, and happy earning!

  3. Hi Jonathan,

Great review of Amazon Affiliate Program. I have a website and have been reviewing different affiliates and it is nice to know that Amazon is easy to join. Others have a long approval process, it is a bit frustrating.

Do you just paste your link to your store to your Facebook, Google Plus or Twitter account? I had never thought of that, it is a great idea.

Also, the advertising fees, do they pay per click or does the product have to be purchased?

Really great site, I am glad I found you.

    Thanks,
    Gina

    • Hey Gina, thanks so much for writing me. I’m glad you enjoyed the Amazon review, and I’m happy to hear you’ll be becoming an affiliate member for them. I’ve heard really great things about them, and yes they are really easy to join too. I know exactly what you mean about the long process that a lot of these affiliate programs take. I personally have been waiting for an affiliate program to approve my membership for about a month now.

About the links, yes you just post them to social networks accounts pages and lead your followers to your store. It is a great way to advertise your store, and especially if you have a lot of followers. I personally don’t have an amazon store yet. However, I have something in the works for the future though.

About the advertising fees, I’m almost certain that the product has to be purchased, but I’ll have to double check on that. Go ahead get started with them, they have a lot of support. If you plan on joining Wealthy Affiliate too, you will have support from 100s thousands of members who are doing it also. As a matter of fact they have training on that on the platform.

  4. Hi Jonathan,

Thank you for your article! I’m running a website about blenders and I’m busy building out the affiliate relations at the moment.

    I was thinking what would be the best choice;
    – going with Amazon or
    – contracting a blender-specific affiliate network?

Amazon has a short cookie-storing period and the commissions are low. On the other hand every one knows them.

Thank yo for your advice in advance!

    Kind regards,

    Adam

    • Hi Adam, thanks for submitting your comment. I’m glad you asked the questions, because I’m sure that’s what many face when that time comes to choose affiliate programs. This might help, I’ve seen many post on their web pages multiple options for their readers to purchase. I’ve seen as much as 4 options. For example, someone was reviewing those new watch products. You know the ones that show how many calories you’re burning and how many miles you’ve run? Under each product review they put the prices from Amazon, Ebay, and a couple of other stores. Each store/price had the link to purchase that item. This particular writer let his reader make that choice.

I thought that was the greatest value for readers. For you to get multiple affiliate programs with the same product and different prices I think you would be providing a great service for people. As a matter of fact, the next time your reader is in the market for something and comes across your website as an option again, they are sure to check you out. They may even refer you to someone else. That’s where the real fruit of your labor will come. Keep up the good work Adam I hope this helps.

  5. Nice article! I was wondering about online selling on Amazon.

This seems like something that is right up my alley.
I really did not know that Amazon had an affiliate program.

I like the way you break down your information to make it easy for the beginner to read.

Thanks for giving a great idea and I will share with my social media network.

    • Hey Garrick, and thank you for sharing! Interestingly, I was a beginner not too long ago. So I know how difficult it can be to fall into the grooves of internet marketing. You can make a lot of money online. You just have to know how to do it. I haven’t looked at it, but I think Amazon has an internet marketing course as well. However, I have found that Wealthy Affiliate is the most economical way to go about getting the knowledge you need to succeed in this business.

A lot of people make a living online promoting products from Amazon. Yeah, 4%-15% commission sounds like a little amount, but not if you add a quantity of pages to it. Let’s put it like this, an ideal website will have more than 150 pages on it right. A good number to put on traffic would be 500 visitors a month, each page. Let’s say that 25 out of the 500 people purchase something from your website (That’s only a 5% conversion rate). So 25 people buy something, each visitor, each page, 150 pages on your website. That makes 3750 buyers a month.

Now let’s say the item their buying is $10. If you’re making let’s say 6% commission on products sold (also very low but realistic) that would make you up to $2250. Could you live off of that amount every month? Or how about maybe add that to your current household income? Keep in mind now, I’m using small numbers here. Your income could equal a lot more! I know a lot of internet marketers who have been in this business for almost ten years and they average $4,000 – $6,000 a month.

Well Garrick, nice chatting with you and I hope to chat with you again later!

  6. I think Amazon Associates is an amazing program, especially for beginners in the affiliate marketing space, but unfortunately, 1-10% commissions can actually tend to be a bit low in comparison to private affiliate programs. I find those programs usually offer 30%+ commissions, which can add up much quicker. I still like Amazon for the millions of products to choose from though – you can’t beat that.

    • Right Matthew I really like amazon for the millions of different products that you can promote. I can also relate to the higher commissions, you mentioned, that other affiliate programs offer, such as Wealthy Affiliate. Being an affiliate of Amazon is most beneficial when you learn how to drive traffic though. Those lower commissions can certainly add up when you’re getting 10s thousands of visitors to your website every month!

If you need help with building a website and learning seo for driving traffic, Wealthy Affiliate offers the best training program hands down. 🙂

Also, Amazon is an excellent affiliate program for niche marketing. If you replicate what many other internet marketers are doing and create multiple niche websites, you can gain a significant advantage using Amazon because of the multitude of different products they have. I’m currently working on this niche website for making money online, but once this one is established I plan on creating another niche website possibly on pet care. Then I will surely benefit from my affiliate program at Amazon.

      Thanks for writing,

      Jonathan
