Amway is a multi level marketing company. It’s popular here in the US. Millions of people in our country are involved. Their members call themselves Independent Business Owners.
They have hundreds of products for sale. It’s primary a direct selling business. They host events regularly for members to gather and bring
prospects to learn their business.
Their payment plans include rankings. They have ranks called platinum, emerald, and diamond. The higher you rank the higher your commissions. Members recruit people to join their downline.
About Amway
It started over 50 years ago. Now one of the largest in its industry. They manufacture their own products like LOC which are cleaning products, and Artistry which are beauty products. They also manufacture vitamins and energy drinks.

There’s currently over 17 million people in Amway in North America. This includes the US and Canada. The average gross monthly income in the year ending in 2014 was $183 to $206 for active members.

Personal Opinion + Recommendation
I was with Amway for about 60 days. I spent six days a week devoting myself to the business. Recruiting people was by far my strong suit, and was the most difficult thing to do. I got no recruits during those 60 days.
I tried every single one of their products. From the vitamins, cleaning products, and the energy drinks. Their cleaning products are not very impressive. However, I can’t say the same for those vitamins. Those things will have you WIRED!
How Much Did You Earn?
I earned from $300-$400 a week selling their products. It was not easy! I spent 8-9 hours a day at my mom’s beauty salon selling every customer that walked through the door. I got by in my financial situation, but I didn’t enjoy doing it.
I quit because I didn’t believe in the products nor the system. Are you willing to spend the rest of your life selling products to people? Not to mention you’ll need to spend hundreds of dollars on inventory.
What do you want out of life?
I want free time to spend with my family. I want to choose the products to sell that I think are the best for people. That’s why I started internet marketing.

Man I feel you. I also was trying a different MLM companies and I also didn’t enjoy the selling process of it. I mean selling products for the rest of your life is just not fun. I think it is so interesting that Amway is still alive and breathing as a company since they are so old and that people still join is a miracle to me. Also the earning potential is not that high if I compare it to other companies, it seems they make more money than amway. Also very interesting spin off to start your own online business. I will for sure check it out and see if it can help me out.
Benedettto, thanks for your comment. I too cannot believe Amway is still around. You know, there are a lot of people out there keeping it afloat. I have a couple of friends of mine that are in it. They are making a living but I tell you what, it’s hard to be around them. Everytime I come around them it’s always about that business. A lot of people every year lose a lot of money invested because it simply is not as easy as it sounds. When it comes to having your own business, you have to do what you love!

First off, great review on amway. It somehow looks like a Pyramid Scheme to me when you mentioned about the rankings. This is a reg flag to not join their company. I’m impressed you manage to earn back the money you invested by selling products from their company. You have a strong will, many people would give up considering it’s a scam. Hi Samuel, thanks for your comment. Yes, I was able to make my money back. I actually made a living on it as well. All of these mlm companies are different opportunities that you can do this, but people need to know it is going to take a lot of hard work. I literally spent 40 hours a week and hundreds of dollars of investment to get returns on my investment.
The hardest part is recruiting people, but it is sales, so the more people you talk too the more conversions you’ll make. It’s kind of like internet marketing. The more visitors you get to your website, the more sales you will have. The only difference is, you can promote what ever products you want, and you do not depend on others for your success.
This is why I prefer Affiliate Marketing over Multi Level Marketing. I fell out of love with the idea of making money with Amway because I did not like their products. You have to be passionate about the product you are promoting in order to be truly successful. Hope everyone takes advantage of Wealthy Affiliate.
